My LG Electronics Warranty Nightmare: Why This Site Exists

In July 2024, I purchased an LG Electronics product a "LG 34WP65C-B UltraWide Computer Monitor 34-inch QHD (3440x1440) 160Hz, HDR10, AMD FreeSync Premium, Built-In Speaker, Borderless Design, Tilt/Height Stand, HDMI DisplayPort, Black" from Amazon (ASIN: B093TB6HZH). Like most LG products, it came with a manufacturer limited warranty, not a conditional warranty.

In December 2024, while trying to remove Styrofoam from inside the frame of the monitor, as the monitor had no protective covering when it was originally shipped to me to prevent the packaged Styrofoam from entering the monitor, lines began to appear going down the monitor. LG Electronics determined it was a manufacturer defect and issued me a return shipping label to send it to LG Electronics repair center, HDTech-Solutions in Industrial City, California. I promptly shipped the monitor back to LG Electronics

A couple days after the monitor arrived at LG Electronics repair facility HDTech-Solutions, LG Electronics informed me that the required parts were on backorder and could take over a month. I called LG Electronics repair facility HDTech-Solutions and spoke with Wendy, the repair supervisor, who suggested I request a replacement monitor instead of waiting. She told me to reference the warranty agreement, which did, in fact, provide for a replacement under such circumstances.

Wendy at HDTech Solutions transferred me to the LG Electronics Presidential Liaison Department, where a representative named Tyeshia approved the replacement. Then silence. I couldn't get a response on an ETA on when I might receive the replacement monitor. I couldn't get any updates, even after repeated messages. Out of frustration, I posted a public message to LG Electronics via their Facebook page and warned I would contact Denver 7 News for help, which I did!

That finally got a response. But the replacement came with a disturbing catch: I was told I had to complete LG Electronics’ “official submission form.” LG Electronics didn’t call it an “RMA form” instead, LG Electronics called it "their policy". When I reviewed the form, I was alarmed. Despite already providing all necessary info when I originally returned the monitor to LG Electronics for repair, this form requested it again. But what was worse—it contained a hidden and extremely restrictive non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

This non-disclosure agreement, aka NDA would prevent me from talking to the media about the defective product. It also included a vague and overly broad contract referencing unnamed “affiliates” and “agents.”

I refused to sign it. I told LG Electronics clearly, repeatedly, that I would never agree to such an illegal condition to enforce my limited warranty.

In retaliation, LG Electronics held my monitor hostage. They refused to repair or replace it unless I signed the non-disclosure agreement aka aka NDA. On January 13, 2025, Cynthia from the LG Electronics Better Business Bureau Team texted me, confirming that the non-disclosure agreement, aka NDA form that Cynthia from LG Electronics Better Business Bureau Team call the “RA Returns Form” was REQUIRED, in all captial letters in the text message. When I declined again, Cynthia from LG Electronics Better Business Bureau Team said my case would be closed.

The next day, January 14, 2025, LG Electronics shipped my defective monitor back to me unrepaired via FedEx 2-Day. I received it on January 16, 2025.

That same day, I filed a small claims lawsuit against LG Electronics in Chaffee County, Colorado.

On June 24, 2025, we went to trial. The judge ruled in my favor. I won!

The monitor came with a “limited warranty.” Not a “conditional warranty.” Not a warranty that requires a non-disclosure agreement or secret contract. And certainly not one that allows LG Electronics to silence consumers as a condition of honoring a lawful warranty.

This Is Bigger Than Just One Monitor

Winning my small claims lawsuit was just the beginning. The so-called “official submission form” also called the RA-Returns Form is essentially a forced non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and vague contract that may have been presented to other LG Electronics customers seeking warranty repair or warranty replacement.

If you were given this form — whether you signed it or refused I would love to hear from you.

We’re investigating a possible class action lawsuit against LG Electronics for using this non-disclosure agreement, aka NDA to silence customers and deny their limited warranty rights. LG Electronics is acting like a corporate bully, and the only way to stop a bully is to stand up to them and say NO!

Say NO. Don’t let them get away with this. A multi-billion dollar corporation CAN NOT SILENCE YOU!
